THE INFLUENCE OF BUDGETARY CONTROL ON ORGANIZATIONAL EFFICIENCY
This study aims to: (1) explore the impact of budgetary control systems on organizational efficiency, (2) identify the most effective budgetary control practices, and (3) evaluate the challenges associated with implementing budgetary control. A survey design was utilized to gather data from operational managers and financial controllers. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 382 respondents from logistics companies in Port Harcourt was determined, ensuring a robust analysis. The logistics sector was chosen for its extensive operational processes and need for effective budgetary control. The reliability coefficient score of the survey was 0.86. Findings reveal that robust budgetary control systems significantly enhance organizational efficiency by improving resource management, reducing waste, and optimizing operational processes. Recommendations include adopting stringent budgetary control measures, training managers in budgetary control techniques, and continuously monitoring budget adherence to enhance organizational efficiency.
